Miss V’s Boot Camp Week

This week in the one week in December when Miss V has her traditional Boot Camp, with classes every day for a week, between the fall and winter regular sessions.

I used to workout with her, having started on Fall 2010 and ending after Boot Camp 2011.

This year, I worked out at a gym instead, so I’d go after work, and not have a too long of a break during business hours.

Boot Camp is typically open only for current clients of her, which was not my case this year, but this time she decided to open it up also to former clients. And that’s when I signed up.

I also gave up the idea of the gym and for next year, starting in January,  I’ll be back with her + ProClub. Yay!

So this week is Boot Camp. And it’s also the week I’m going back to Miss V, after exactly a year. Meaning, it’s been tough.

But it’s soooooooo much fun!!!!

For the Boot Camps she does competition for point among the classes.

The rules:

BootCamp Competition:  Each day each class starts off with 10 points – how you & your team performs and works together adds or subtracts.

Each day your class will be given points on a variety of criteria – including, but not limited to:

  • attendance
  • being ready to workout 5 minutes EARLY (good time to razz, cheer on, sing carols to the previous class)
  • MOJO (positive energy and fun)
  • Holiday spirit
  • Creativity
  • Providing smiles & laughter

Points will be deducted for the following – including, but not limited to:

  • Asking/inferring/demanding/whining for points
  • Whining
  • Tardiness
  • Non-excused absences
  • Grinch-like behavior
  • Bootcamp shirts (from any year) must be worn every day (however, as I’ve heard rumors of “theme days” – it will be excused if the ENTIRE class is in them attire)

1st chance for your team to add 10 bonus points: the team that submits payment & picks up their shirts first

Our 10:00 class was the one that got the 10 points for submitting payment first! We were also the first ones to come up with a name, which granted us some more extra points.

The name we picked was BAGAJES, which is an acronym made with the first letter of our first names: Brit, Ariane, Gabi/Gomathy, Ariane (again, just for the effect), Joyce, Erika and Sayed, but also stands for: Bootylicious Asses Giggling And Jamming Swankily! (the E, for Erika, was added later, and I don’t think we came up with some other meaning for it…)

So before the classes even started we were already ahead of the other classes with 44 points.

Class standings before the 1st day of class:
7am: “Yogis” 11 points
8am  “50 Shades”: 35 points
9am: “11 of 9”  35 points
10am “BAGAJES”:  44 points
11am: “Jiggle PLANK” 6 points

Of course that early leadership does not necessarily mean we’ll be always ahead. By the end of the second day, 8:00 class had passed us… 😦

I’ll write a post for each day of Boot Camp, so it doesn’t get too long.

The very first day is typically the one we run the most. That’s the day we do our “12 days of Christmas Workout”.

What that means?

In doubles, and singing the workout name on each station:

Looots of running and jumping!

I paired with Shauna and we did good. It was the first time she was a Miss V’s Boot Camp and it was my coming back, so we kept a similar pace (I did a bit better, but just a little bit)

That was Day 1!

For points we had reindeer head bands that jingles. The jingle bells helped a lot in keeping our energy and spirits up high. Yay!
