Petrified

They were best friends, one tall and slim, the other short and chubby.
They were not the most honest of the people and made a living from stolen items.
But on that summer, they made a huge mistake.
They were passing by a farm and saw an amazingly gorgeous vegetable garden, growing delicious succulent vegetables.
They did not think twice before stealing some of those beauties.
But as they were leaving, the farmer saw them and cast a spell, that they would never be able to see the light again.
They didn’t take it seriously and went on. It was already nighttime.
They camped on a vast field and feasted on the stolen veggies. Then they fell fast asleep.
The next morning, they woke up just before dawn and grabbed their stuff to go on. As they headed east, the sun came out from behind the mountains and that’s when petrification happened.
This was about 800 years ago and there they are to this day, looking at the sunrise, still not able to see light again.
