This is the third week of the One Four Challenge for November.
For this week’s edit, I decided to make it look as if the picture was taken at twilight. I must confess I did not do great here, because the dark shadows may give me away, but at least I got more evening colors (or lack thereof).
To get the feeling I wanted this week, I used the Fotor app on my PC and used the cyanotype effect with 50% strength, then I changed brightness to -42, contrast to 20, temperature to -16, tint to -28 and blur/sharpen to -25
That’s how it turned out:
You are getting there, if only you could darken the sky and the bright spots on the grass to get a more night feeling. 🙂
Thanks. I see what you mean. My biggest problem is that I don’t have any professional photo editing software. I do those using simple ‘filter’ apps. The one I use on the phone is a bit more powerful, but then is on the phone…. tiny image. So it’s kind of hard to isolate and area using them (not possible type of hard on fotor, not sure about photo editor… will check…. ;o)
I use GIMP (which has most, if not all, of the features available on Photoshop). It does have a bit of a learning curve, but it is free and available for all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux). I started writing GIMP tutorials back in Jan 2015, so if you have any questions, I’d love to help. 🙂
Great. I’ll give it a try. Thanks so much.
Nic makes some good points, I definately got the feel of twilight from this tho 🙂
It is hard to do anything with some control without decent tools. GIMP and Nic’s offer of help might be the best way for you to go! You certainly would be able to experiment a little more easily.
